Implantology

In modern dentistry, there are many types and forms of dental prosthesis. However, there is only one that can replace the lost tooth again in a natural way in terms of both function and appearance: implantology. In our Habios dental clinic, we offer the full range of implantology services.

Advantages of implants:

  • Fixed dental prosthesis
  • Natural function and appearance
  • Natural when eating and talking
  • No false occlusal loads on the jaw
  • Patients can bite firmly again
  • Adjacent teeth remain intact
  • An implant cannot be affected by caries
  • Can also be used in the case of tooth loss through periodontitis
  • Can also be used as a root for prostheses and bridges - greater stability

Steps in implant treatment

A tooth implant is an artificial tooth root that is anchored in the jaw. In some cases, this step must be preceded by bone regeneration, as the implant needs a stable base. After the implant has been set, it must first grow in. This phase is also known as osseointegration, and can take between 8 and 12 weeks, depending on the patient.

The dental prosthesis, which mimics the appearance and function of a natural tooth, is then set on the tooth root - i.e. the implant. The dental prosthesis could be an individual crown or a bridge.

Thanks to the integrated dental master laboratory in our clinic, the dental practitioner and dental technician can work hand in hand to achieve the best result for you. By coordinating with each other continuously and swiftly, they create a dental prosthesis that is perfect in its function and appearance.

Computer-aided 3D implant planning

Computer-aided 3D implant planning enables us to get a more accurate picture of your jaw situation. Templates are created using dental casts and temporary tooth arrangements, and are used to produce CT scans (see also digital 3D radiography). These give us a three-dimensional image of the jaw, which we can use with our modern computer-aided planning software to prepare the procedure more effectively and draw up a forward-looking plan. With this plan, we can determine the exact position of the implant(s) in advance and some of the steps previously needed during the procedure itself therefore become unnecessary. With the NobelGuide™ method, we can therefore complete the entire implant process in just one appointment.

Advantages of 3D implant planning:

  • Masticatory function discernible before surgery
  • Aesthetic result visible before the procedure
  • Risk of damage to nerves, blood vessels etc. is avoided
  • A very low-risk, minimally invasive procedure
  • Implant in one appointment thanks to the NobelGuide™ method
